NXP Reduces Wi-Fi 6/6E Loss Tracking with QFN Packages

NXP Semiconductors announced on the 29th that it is launching a QFN solution supporting Wi-Fi 6/6E for smartphones and computing devices. OnePlus has introduced NXP's QFN (Quad Flat Non-leaded Package) RF front-end solution for Wi-Fi 6 into its latest flagship smartphone model, the 'OnePlus 9', which supports Wi-Fi 6.

The OnePlus 9 is the industry's first smartphone to feature a Wi-Fi 6 QFN solution, and the NXP single-channel QFN front-end solution for Wi-Fi 6/6E, the 'WLAN7205C', supports the Wi-Fi 6 wireless network standard and the 6GHz band.
Additionally, it is available in an ultra-small QFN package that integrates a power amplifier, switch, and low-noise amplifier into a single unit. The QFN package is positioned close to the antenna, reducing tracking loss compared to currently available dual-channel, modular solutions. This enhances transmit and receive capabilities and extends battery life for extended Wi-Fi use.
