Agilent Announces HDMI 1.4a Protocol Analyzer and Generator

Agilent Korea (President Kim Seung-yeol) has launched an industry-leading HDMI 1.4a protocol analyzer and generator. This equipment enables designers and engineers to test whether devices meet the requirements of the HDMI Compliance Test Specification 1.4a (CTS 1.4a).

HDMI is an interface for transmitting video and audio data between playback devices such as DVD players or set-top boxes and output devices such as computer monitors or digital TVs. The most recent version 1.4a has been revised and supports 3D formats.

The Agilent U4998A includes a high-speed protocol analyzer, video timing analyzer, image analyzer, audio timing analyzer, and audio/video protocol generator required by the CTS (Compliance Test Specification) for HDMI compliance testing. Additionally, it is the first equipment to support source and sink compliance testing at signal data rates up to 3.4 Gbps and supports 4K x2K resolution.

Through integration with an offline viewer, it provides greater insight from captured data, and monitoring upgrades help engineers effectively debug source and sink issues.
