Google and Naver Cloud support planned for the end of the year


On the 26th, SK Telecom launched 'SKT Cloud Hub', a subscription-based cloud-only network service that allows corporate customers using multi-clouds such as AWS and MS Azure to use optimal cloud services with a single line.

Previously, companies using dedicated lines instead of the general internet to access the cloud faced the hassle of having to set up and manage individual lines for each cloud. SKT offers cloud hub and dedicated line services based on strategic partnerships with domestic and international cloud service providers (CSPs), including AWS and Microsoft. This eliminates the need to purchase separate network equipment, providing convenience, stability, and cost savings for companies using multiple clouds.

Compared to individually building and operating dedicated lines, companies can achieve cost savings of approximately 80%. While companies adopting a new cloud platform incur costs such as purchasing network equipment, renting space, power, and operating expenses, Cloud Hub is a subscription-based service that requires only a monthly fee. Additionally, SKT plans to provide high-quality multi-cloud connectivity and network environments by utilizing the Cloud Management Platform (CMP), which applies AI-based cloud usage cost reduction technology jointly developed with Bespin Global.

Cloud Hub utilizes dedicated lines and quantum cryptography technology to completely eliminate hacking. The dedicated line service provided is an independent line exclusively for cloud services, allowing control over all network paths and protecting critical data. SKT, the world's first company to apply quantum cryptography technology to 5G, plans to apply it to its dedicated cloud network within the year.
