February 15, 2013 – Linear Technology Korea (CEO Hong Sa-kwak) announced the launch of two types of dual and quad operational amplifiers with wide input range (Product names: LT6016 & LT6017). These products combine the robustness and functionality of LTC's proprietary Over-the-Top® architecture with high-precision performance. The input offset voltage is a maximum of 50µV, the input bias current is 5nA, and the low frequency noise is 0.5µVP-. Through these characteristics, these new products are ideal for a wide range of applications including precision industries, automotive, and instrumentation.

The Over-the-Top input characteristics operate well even when the voltage at the input pin exceeds the V+ rail. The LT6016/LT6017 operate normally when the voltage at the input pin is up to 76V higher than the V– voltage or when V+ is 3 to 50V. Additional error protection features protect the operational amplifier from reverse voltage application conditions (maximum -50V at the V+ pin), negative transient response (maximum -25V at the VIN pin), and forced output voltage when there is no supply power (maximum 50V at the VOUT pin). This robust architecture is particularly useful in amplifier analog interface applications on different boards, and is also useful in high-side and low-side current sensing.

The LT6016 and LT6017 are specified over temperature ranges of 40°C to 85°C, -40°C to 125°C, and -55°C to 150°C. The dual LT6016 is available in an 8-pin MSOP package and starts at $2.50 per unit based on quantities of 1,000. The quad LT6017 is supplied in a 6mm x 3mm DFN package and starts at $3.96 per unit based on quantities of 1,000.
