Moxa Announces Smart Switch Supporting 3 Industrial Protocols

Automation engineers are placing increasing emphasis on the fundamental network infrastructure for stable plant maintenance. In particular, they focus on monitoring SCADA/HMI data and network status to prevent network downtime.
On the 8th, Moxa announced the addition of the 'SDS-3016' series to its industrial smart switch product line. The new product line includes Industrial Automation (IA) profiles as well as gigabit uplinks and 8 additional ports. This enables automation engineers to rapidly process the increasing data volume in smart manufacturing.

The SDS-3016 series smart switch is specifically designed for industrial automation engineers and automation machine builders, and does not require IT-based network management expertise.
It is a 14+2G port gigabit smart Ethernet switch that includes 3 industrial protocols (EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, Modbus/TCP). Installation methods are available in 2 options: DIN-rail and rack-mounting. It supports a single-page dashboard GUI for convenient device configuration and port diagnostic report generation, and provides one-step configuration supporting SCADA/HMI/NMS integration. It also supports client RSTP/STP/MRP network redundancy.
Elsa Liu, Product Manager at Moxa, explained, "The new product line consists of 3 pre-configured industrial automation protocols, 2 installation methods, and a one-page dashboard for simple configuration. We added a rotary coding DIP switch at the bottom of the device to enable profile-based configuration without the use of a web browser."
