LG Electronics Hosts 1st Robot Incubation Contest
Accept applications via the website until August 29.
Finals in September at G-Camp, a specialized makerspace lab


LG Electronics will hold the '1st Robot Incubation Contest' on the 26th. Teams or individuals wishing to participate in the contest can submit their application via the web using the provided form by the 29th of next month.

This competition was planned with the purpose of discovering new businesses through diverse ideas in a situation where robots have become part of daily life. The aim is to showcase service robots that help humans focus on more valuable things instead of dangerous and repetitive tasks.

LG Electronics will announce the finalist teams in September following an internal review. The finalist teams will compete against each other while carrying out projects presented by LG Electronics at 'G-Camp,' a specialized makerspace lab located in Geumcheon-gu, Seoul, operated by the Seoul Business Agency (SBA), a partner organization of this competition. The Seoul Business Agency is a support organization for small and medium-sized enterprises under the Seoul Metropolitan Government.

The final winning team, determined at the end of the year, will be awarded a prize of 15 million won.

Currently, LG Electronics has positioned robotics as a key pillar of its future business and is showcasing various customized solutions, such as hotel, hospital, and F&B solutions, with a focus on services.
