On the 28th, LS Electric invited representatives from 15 partner companies, including SG MD and Wonchang Enterprise, to its Cheongju plant in Heungdeok-gu, Cheongju-si, Chungcheongbuk-do, and signed an agreement for the '2021 Large-Small and Medium-Sized Business Mutual Growth Smart Factory Construction Support Project.' With this, LS Electric will support the construction of smart factories tailored to the production conditions of each company by providing mentoring, establishing roadmaps, and connecting with suppliers to a total of 18 companies, including 15 of its partner companies and three domestic small and medium-sized enterprises.

LS Electric, in collaboration with the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Small and Medium Businesses and the Korea Standards Association (KSA), is implementing a smart factory construction support project and has expanded the scope to include general small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

“We hope that this project, which has been underway since last year, will help domestic small and medium-sized enterprises grow,” said Cho Wook-dong, director and head of LS Electric’s Biomaterials Research Center. “We will continue to support the spread of innovation and strengthening of mutually beneficial cooperation through ‘Tech Square.’”

Techsquare is LS Electric's open platform, open to anyone, including demanders, suppliers, and industry-academia experts. It offers customized services such as lifecycle mentoring, connection between demand and supply companies, project management, and maintenance services. Unlike traditional solutions that are offered in bulk, Techsquare analyzes customer data and matches them with the optimal companies in each field, helping reduce deployment costs.

Additionally, specialized companies in each field provide customized information and solutions in the form of mentoring according to the smart factory life cycle, from initial introduction to construction and maintenance, thereby increasing scalability and service satisfaction. Since its launch, Techsquare has been adopted by over 450 small and medium-sized manufacturing companies, providing them with a wealth of information on smart factories and services such as free mentoring, recommendations for optimal suppliers, and matching.
