Samsung Electronics has launched a competitive bidding process for six in-house cafeterias, expanding its group meal service to external locations following the opening of two in-house cafeterias in the first half of the year.

Samsung Electronics announced on the 11th a public bid to select catering companies for six in-house cafeterias at its business sites in Suwon, Gwangju, and Gumi, in an effort to provide employees with a variety of meals and improved service.

This bidding is being conducted for small and medium-sized food service providers to expand practical mutual growth, and additional points will be awarded to small and medium-sized businesses and companies located in regions with in-house cafeterias.

The bid evaluation will be conducted in three stages: document screening, presentation evaluation, on-site inspection, and employee food tasting. A new operator will be selected around November.

Since June, Samsung Electronics has been operating its in-house cafeterias at its Suwon and Giheung plants through external catering companies selected through competitive bidding. The company plans to gradually open all of its in-house cafeterias to the public in the future.
