March 13, 2013 – Linear Technology Korea (CEO Hong Sa-kwak) announced the launch of the LTM8001, a step-down µModule® (micromodule) regulator that enables five low-noise 1A linear regulators to be configured as a single array. The linear regulator announced this time can be configured to provide 2A, 3A, 4A, or 5A depending on the number and combination of current-sharing outputs.
The LTM8001 is mounted in a 15mm x 15mm x 3.42mm BGA package and provides high-efficiency conversion from input sources ranging from 6V to 36V. Five low-noise linear regulators are powered from an on-board synchronous step-down converter. Each output voltage is adjustable from 0V to 24V. The LTM8001 is designed to supply power to multi-rail systems based on FPGAs, DSPs, ASICs, and microprocessors.
The five linear regulators of the LTM8001 provide an adjustable output voltage range of 0V to 24V with ±2% accuracy over the entire guaranteed temperature range. Output noise is only 90µVRMS over the 10Hz to 1MHz frequency range. The step-down regulator provides user-adjustable current limiting capability with accuracy within ±10%.
The LTM8001 is guaranteed to operate normally within internal temperature ranges of -40°C to +125°C and -55°C to +125°C. The price is $17.40 per unit based on a quantity of 1,000 units. The LTM8001 is available now. For more information, refer to www.linear.com/product/LTM8001참조.
