Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Moon Seung-wook inspected the progress of the Yongin Semiconductor Cluster.

On the 28th, Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Moon Seung-wook visited Yongin City Hall and held a meeting regarding the Yongin Semiconductor Cluster.

At this event, Minister Moon Seung-wook held a meeting with officials from Yongin City, SK Hynix, and Yongin Industrial Complex (Yongin General Industrial Complex) to receive reports on the progress of preliminary procedures for the commencement of construction of the industrial complex, including permits for infrastructure such as electricity and water, and listened to difficulties and suggestions.

Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Moon Seung-wook said, “The Yongin Semiconductor Cluster is a key production facility for advanced memory included in the ‘K-Semiconductor Strategy’ and a specialized complex for small, part, and equipment where approximately 50 small, part, and equipment companies are scheduled to move in together, so there is a great need for policy support.” He added, “We will not spare government-wide support to resolve any difficulties that may arise during the construction process so that the construction can proceed as planned without any disruption.”

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy announced that it will open an "Investment Difficulty Reception Center" (Semiconductor Association) to continuously receive investment difficulties related to various permits and regulations in order to support investment by semiconductor companies, including the Yongin Semiconductor Cluster, and will form a "Semiconductor Investment Inspection Meeting" (chaired by the Director of the Industrial Policy Office of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy) with the participation of relevant ministries and local governments to inspect permits and regulations and prepare solutions.
