VMware Expands VMware Tanzu Portfolio Capabilities

VMware (CEO Raghu Raghuram), a global leader in enterprise software, is accelerating app modernization across any cloud environment by expanding the capabilities of its VMware Tanzu portfolio.VMware unveiled expanded capabilities for its VMware Tanzu portfolio at VMworld 2021, a global multi-cloud conference held online on the 6th.
This enables enterprises to manage and operate more reliable, secure, and adaptable applications, while giving developers the freedom to build and deploy apps on any cloud.
Through this conference, VMware introduced expanded solutions, including: △ adding new features to the beta version of VMware Tanzu Application Platform; △ releasing free software to experience VMware Tanzu; △ announcing VMware Tanzu Kubernetes Grid 1.4, which supports GPUs across multiple clouds; and △ expanding self-service capabilities such as VMware Cloud Director.
First, we added development supply chain standardization and integrated management capabilities to the beta version of VMware Tanzu Application Platform, and equipped it with developer tools such as IDE plug-ins to enable developers to easily access the platform and open source.
Additionally, to give you more freedom to experience VMware Tanzu, we offer the VMware Tanzu Community Edition software for free. This software allows users to freely learn educational resources using the same software as the commercial version, and immediately apply the accumulated usage, knowledge, and work to actual commercialization.
VMware also announced VMware Tanzu Kubernetes Grid 1.4, an enterprise-grade multi-cloud Kubernetes management solution with new GPU support across multiple clouds, including AWS and Azure. VMware also announced expanded self-service capabilities and expanded DevSecOps support, delivering a developer-friendly cloud for rapidly building and testing cloud-native apps.

Databricks Unveils Open AI Security Monitoring 'Lakewatch'
Databricks entered the security market on March 24 by unveiling LakeWatch, an open-source agentic SIEM. The core functionality of this product is to integrate and analyze security, IT, and business data in a single environment to support AI-based threat detection and investigation. The company explained that it reduces the limitations of existing security operations centers, which have had to forgo some data due to high cost structures, and enables large-scale data analysis and automation based on open formats and ecosystems. LakeWatch is currently offered as a private preview, with Adobe and Dropbox mentioned as early customers. Databricks also announced an expanded partnership with Anthropic as well as the acquisition of Antimatter and SiftD.ai.
