Telit Obtains SK Telecom Network Interoperability Certification (IOT) for WCDMA Module HE910
Seoul, June 3, 2013 Telit Wireless Solutions (CEO Derek Siu Kengsang, www.telit.com , hereinafter Telit), a company specializing in M2M (machine-to-machine) modules and consulting services, announced that its WCDMA module HE910 series has obtained SK Telecom's network interoperability certification (IOT).
Telit has proven the stability of its communication performance and the excellence of its module quality through the acquisition of SK Telecom network certification, and is now able to provide greater advantages to solution providers using the network.
The M2M Module IoT Program is the final step taken before modules are applied to client terminals and the solution is actually operated through the communication network. By undergoing this preliminary IoT program, protocol complexity between M2M devices and mobile networks can be eliminated. Through this, clients can utilize modules with proven stability for application development while receiving customized technical support for their specific business needs.
Telit has already obtained network certification for SK Telecom through various product families, including the UC864-K and CC864-K, and plans to expand IoT with its LE product family in the future.
The HE910 is a global HSPA+ module supporting all WCDMA frequency bands (850/900/1700/1900/2100MHz) and GSM frequency bands (850/900/1800/1900MHz), featuring an ultra-compact (28.2 x 28.2 x 2.6mm) LGA form factor. It provides a data transfer rate of up to 21Mbps (downlink) in G/DG/D variant modes, up to 7.2Mbps (downlink) in dual-band EUD, EUG, and EUR variant modes, and a data transfer rate of 5.76Mbps for the uplink in all variant modes. It supports the high-speed serial port MIPI HSI and Receive Diversity, and features such as built-in high-sensitivity A-GPS and simultaneous voice and data support are available as options. The HE910, a low-power model offering advanced connectivity, is suitable for business purposes as well as everyday applications, including mobile computers, PDAs, smartphones, tablet PCs, and general electronic products.
Derick Tsang, President of Telit’s Asia-Pacific region, said, “By combining our know-how honed in the global market with network interoperability with leading domestic telecommunications companies, we have been able to secure a more robust competitive edge. With this network certification, we plan to strengthen our sales efforts, focusing on markets with high demand such as telematics and smart metering.”
The xE910 form factor family, including the HE910, protects customer investments by providing full compatibility with the full range of communication standards, from 2G-GPRS to 4G-LTE. More information about the HE910 and other Telit products can be found at www.telit.com .
