IAR Systems and SecureThings are launching integrated support to accelerate Microsoft Azure IoT migrations.

IAR Systems®, a forward-thinking provider of software tools and services for embedded development, and SecureThingz, a subsidiary of IAR Systems Group, today announced a complete development to deployment solution for Microsoft Azure IoT and RTOS platforms.

As many applications rapidly transition from traditional embedded devices to cloud-oriented edge computing nodes, there is a growing need to integrate cloud connectivity into both development and manufacturing processes to create a seamless and secure supply chain. This newly introduced solution is expected to be supported by one of the world's most popular commercial embedded development tool chains, integrating cloud-enabled identity and robust root of trust (RoT) technology to deliver a truly 'cloud-first' solution.

By combining the complete development toolchain, IAR Embedded Workbench, and the security development tool, Embedded Trust, with Microsoft's Cloud Device Provisioning Services (DPS) cloud service, enterprises can deliver uniquely cryptographically enabled products with secure software installation, advanced security update management, and secure production management. Development-oriented security features protect intellectual property (IP), block malware, and increase the reliability of all connected devices by preventing illegal external intrusion or manipulation during the development process.
