The Korea Medical Devices Industry Cooperative (Chairman Jaehwa Lee) is participating in the MEDICA exhibition in Germany, and has begun to accelerate the overseas expansion of Korean medical device companies in the post-COVID era.

The Korea Medical Device Association will participate in the 53rd Medical Device Exhibition in Düsseldorf, Germany (MEDICA 2021) for four days from the 15th to the 18th by setting up a Korean pavilion.

MEDICA 2021 is the world's largest medical device exhibition, held annually in November in Düsseldorf, Germany, together with the medical device components exhibition (COMPAMED).

This event will feature approximately 10,000 medical devices exhibited by 3,200 companies from 70 countries in 15 exhibition halls spanning a total area of 100,000 square meters.

The Korean pavilion, hosted by the Korea Medical Device Association, will feature 71 medical device companies. This marks the largest number since the COVID-19 pandemic. Korea will have the fourth-largest number of participating companies, following Germany, the United States, and Italy.

The association operates promotional booths in the equipment and consumables halls to promote participating companies and products to the world. Additionally, through pre-publicity, we will arrange on-site 1:1 matching meetings between overseas buyers who visit the Korean Pavilion and participating companies.

This year's Korean pavilion will feature new companies such as Diexome (genetic testing reagent), Utsem (negative pressure carrier), and Newlive (personal combination stimulator), showcasing a variety of Korean medical devices.

“Interest in healthcare is growing globally due to COVID-19,” said Cho Nam-kwon, Executive Director of the Korea Medical Device Association. “We will spare no effort in supporting the accelerated overseas expansion of Korea’s excellent medical devices, starting with the 2021 MEDICA exhibition.”
