Congatec Korea (CEO Kim Yun-seon), a leading company in embedded and edge computing technologies, is expanding its service capabilities through a partnership with a leading real-time operating system provider in the cybersecurity sector.

congatec Korea announced on the 17th that it has recently signed a strategic partnership with SYSGO, a European leader in real-time operating systems (RTOS) for safety and cybersecurity applications.

Through this partnership, the two companies will provide ARM and x86-based turnkey solution platforms specialized for technical safety and cybersecurity requirements in key systems such as industrial automation, healthcare, smart energy, rail, commercial and autonomous vehicles, and construction equipment.

The first implementations from both companies that meet ASIL B and SIL 2 functional safety ratings will be x86 and ARM Cortex-based computer-on-modules (COMs).

This product enables the application of Safety Element out of Context (SEooC) as defined in the ISO 26262 standard.

Implemented to streamline the process of developing technical safety and cybersecurity systems, this offering, offered under a new partnership agreement, is a full-service offering that includes comprehensive certification support for various safety standards and ICE 61508, the functional safety standard for electronic systems.

This platform is implemented based on Sisgo's RTOS PikeOS and hypervisor.The foam is certified to Common Criteria EAL 3+ and supports certifications for a wide range of applications, including railways (EN 50129 / EN 50657), commercial and agricultural vehicles (ISO 26262), civil avionics (DO-254), automation and process control PLCs (IEC 61508), and medical applications (IEC 62304).
