El Corporation is using 3D printing to develop national shooting team equipment, and is expected to expand its production of custom parts for general use, including athletes.

3D printing specialist company El Corporation (CEO Lim Jun-hwan) announced on the 29th that it will accelerate the production of customized parts using 3D printing technology for the equipment of national team athletes participating in the International Practical Shooting Competition to be held by the International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC) next year.

On July 16, El Corporation signed a business agreement with the Korea Practical Shooting Federation (hereinafter referred to as IPSC Korea) and has been cooperating in various ways, including developing accurate and high-quality practical shooting equipment using 3D printing technology, establishing export infrastructure for products, developing sales channels, and promoting international practical shooting competitions.

In particular, we have been jointly developing more accurate and safer practical shooting products that enhance performance by applying 3D printing technology. We have customized the grips and parts of practical shooting guns to the size and shape of the athlete's hand, achieving lightweight construction. We have also reduced costs by 3D printing expensive components, such as gun stands.

El Corporation and IPSC Korea are accelerating the production and manufacturing of customized parts to enhance the performance of the Korean national team athletes participating in the IPSC International Practical Shooting Championship to be held next year. The athletes' custom components will make their debuts in demonstration events at the 2022 IPSC Handgun World Championships and the 2023 Action Air World Championships.

In addition, the two organizations plan to actively promote the production of customized parts for not only athletes but also general users through continuous product planning and development.

Founded in 1976, the IPSC is an international organization dedicated to the development and popularization of practical shooting. Currently, it boasts 250,000 members in 110 countries. The shooting sports governed by the IPSC include handgun, rifle, shotgun, and action air (airsoft) guns. These dynamic, popular events, characterized by a variety of stages, obstacles, and fixed and moving targets, are won by the fastest and most accurate shooters.

Recently, IPSC was promoted to a full member of the General Association of International Sports Federations (GAISF), and is expected to advance to the Olympics.

GAISF is an international organization that oversees the Olympic Games. It is one of the world's three major sports organizations, consisting of four councils: the Summer Olympics, Winter Olympics, Independent Federations, and the IOC. 26 international sports federations, including the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), the International Taekwondo Federation (KITF), and the International Archery Federation (FITA), belong to it.
