Vice Chairman Han Jong-hee stated that consumers can participate in creating a better future by using sustainable products, and named this "Everyday Sustainability."

Samsung Electronics has strived to create sustainable products throughout the entire process, from development to disposal. The five types of memory semiconductors that received 'Carbon Reduction Certification' last year contributed to reducing carbon emissions by approximately 700,000 tons during the production process of each chip.

We are also strengthening eco-friendly elements at the product packaging stage. Last year, we used recycled materials for all TV packaging boxes. Starting this year, we plan to apply this to accessories such as styrofoam and holders inserted inside the boxes.

Vice Chairman Han emphasized, “To realize a sustainable society, cooperation transcending industries is necessary.” As part of this initiative, it announced that it will develop technology to reduce microplastic emissions in collaboration with the global eco-friendly outdoor brand Patagonia.

This project is a long-term plan to continuously develop various products and services to expand lifestyle choices for customers.

In addition, Samsung Electronics announced that it is launching the Home Connectivity Alliance (HCA) in partnership with global companies such as GE and Haier to strengthen connectivity between products. We plan to enable consumers worldwide to conveniently use home appliances from various brands on a single home IoT platform.
