Communications and Media Sector Performance Presentations Held Online and Offline

The Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI) will host the "ETRI Communications and Media Research Institute 2021 Achievement Presentation" online and offline, providing a forum for sharing technology by presenting key research results in communications and media and demonstrating these results directly.

ETRI announced that it will hold the 'ETRI Communication Media Research Institute 2021 Achievement Presentation' event at COEX on the 11th, announcing 10 major research achievements, including hyper-connected communications, hyper-realistic media/content, and hyper-space radio/satellite, and revealing 15 achievements.

This presentation will present ETRI's Communications and Media Research Institute's key research achievements for 2021, provide opportunities for direct information exchange with researchers at the institute, and engage in technology discussions. The purpose is to contribute to the advancement of technology in the communications and media sectors by providing a forum for technology sharing and cooperation with related companies and major organizations.

The 10 major research achievements being disclosed this time are: △5G industrial Internet of Things based on end-to-end low-latency, high-reliability, and ultra-precision network △5G NR-based small cell △Optical-based cloud resource connection and silicon photonics optical connection △5G optical repeater △ATSC 3.0 broadcasting △Digital holographic acquisition/generation △Intelligent content creation and realistic visualization △Non-wearable VR/AR sports △Public complex communication satellite △Drone wireless identification and information management technology, etc.

In particular, 'non-wearable VR/AR sports technology' and 'public complex communication satellite technology' will utilize the metaverse platform to present real-time results both online and offline.

ETRI Communications and Media Research Institute Director Seungchan Bang said, "This event will be an opportunity to introduce ETRI's representative research achievements in the communications and media fields and strengthen cooperation with related companies and major organizations."
