Expanding new sectors requiring AMR
Global robot manufacturer MiR (Mobile Industrial Robots) continues to grow in the autonomous mobile robot market and expand its robot application areas.
Mir reported a 42% year-over-year increase in sales in 2021, with nearly 300 robots shipped in December. The company said the MiR600 and MiR1350, launched in 2021, achieved top sales in new market segments.
Mir reported higher-than-average sales growth in Australia, Japan, and Korea in 2021. The company announced that it expanded its regional team, particularly in Korea, and expanded its organization in Japan, Taiwan, and Thailand.
Since launching its first robot in 2015, Mir has also recently been anticipating strong growth in the logistics and consumer packaged goods (CPG) sectors, optimizing internal transportation.
As the global shift to autonomous transportation accelerates, Mir announced that it is adopting its robot management software, MiRFleet, to focus on how companies can integrate AMRs into other automation solutions.
Nielsen said, “Customers are focusing on how to effectively use multiple mobile robots simultaneously, and Mirfleet plays a key role in making this possible. Regardless of industry, companies across all sectors have stringent requirements for ease of use, navigation, scalability, and safety, and they value Mir's ability to integrate secure and seamless solutions into their IT systems. Mirfleet is a differentiating factor that can maximize the potential of AMRs by enabling them to choose efficient routes.
