NXP Announces New NFC Tag That Easily Connects Wi-Fi and Bluetooth
Published2013.08.20 20:25The field detection mode integrated into the tag turns on the device's switch when it is brought close to an NFC-enabled device, quickly enabling 'Tap to Connect'. With memory ranging from 144 bytes (NTAG213F) to up to 888 bytes (NTAG216F), the NTAG21xF family can easily connect via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
NTAG21xF product family features
- Usable in consumer electronics accessories equipped with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi
o Bluetooth: Headset, speaker, mouse, keyboard, streaming receiver
o Wi-Fi: Smart appliances, smart meters, medical devices, printers
- NTAG21xF series devices comply with the NFC Forum Tag 2 Type and connect with all NFC phones.
- Field detection to 'activate' accessory connections is intuitive and very simple. Users simply tap their phone on the accessory to connect.
- The NTAG21xF product family allows NFC tags to be set to no-response mode to reduce battery consumption when the battery is low.

ST Microelectronics has unveiled the 'STSPIN9P' series of 75V motor drive ICs tailored for 48V-class industrial drive system design.
