Fairchild Semiconductor Launches Automotive-Grade High-Speed Low-Side Driver Family, Improves Efficiency and Simplifies Design
Automotive applications using power MOSFETs require high peak drive current and low output impedance. Fairchild Semiconductor (NYSE: FCS)’s FAN31xx_F085 series and FAN32xx_F085 series high-speed low-side automotive-grade gate driver products offer excellent design flexibility, allowing for a wide selection of feature and performance combinations for use in power supplies and other high-efficiency MOSFET switching applications, enabling the design of extremely efficient and reliable designs in a compact size.
Drivers that meet these AEC-Q100 standards are available in SO8 packages and allow selection of TTL or CMOS input thresholds, ensuring the best possible design flexibility. These drivers allow for design flexibility by utilizing two inputs per channel (dual input (+ logic and – logic), inverted and enabled, non-inverted and enabled).
Key Features:
• Meets AEC-Q100 standards
• Achieved powerful gate drive by applying MillerDrive™ architecture
• Since time delays are short and well-controlled (propagation delay of less than 20ns for switching at 1MHz or higher), efficiency can be maximized through driver parallelization and drive timing optimization.
• Fail-safe input: Keeps the output low when no input signal is present.
• 20V absolute maximum rating, 4kV or higher ESD, 500mA output reverse current
• Ambient operating temperature range -40°C to +125°C

Fairchild Semiconductor, through collaboration with major global automakers and systems manufacturers, provides various types of semiconductor solutions that optimize power management for advanced automotive architectures, improve fuel efficiency, and contribute to environmental protection.
