Agilent Korea Launches Two Product Lines of High-Performance, High-Power System Power Supplies
Agilent Korea (CEO and President Yoon Deok-gwon) is launching two product lines of high-performance, high-power system power supplies.
The first product line, Advanced Power System (APS) N6900 and N7900 power supply/analyzer product families, are 1-kW and 2-kW class products for complex automatic test equipment (ATE) applications. The second product line is a 5-kW, 10-kW, and 15-kW class programmable product family that provides autoranging functionality for ATE applications in the N8900 series power supply product family.
With the launch of the new product lines, Agilent is able to expand the range of its power supply product portfolio into the high-power market.
The Agilent N6900 & N7900 series APS power supplies feature a VersaPower architecture that provides industry-leading specifications to achieve faster measurements. Additionally, by providing high-performance measurements, power profiles can be captured more accurately, and integrated functions can shorten the development period of automated test systems and reduce support budgets. The 1-kW and 2-kW class models, which can be expanded to 10-kW class, are offered in two series to enable test system engineers to meet power testing requirements. The APS N6900 series DC power supply is designed for ATE applications where high performance is essential, and the APS N7900 series dynamic DC power supply is designed for ATE applications requiring high-speed dynamic sourcing and measurements. It also helps engineers overcome difficult measurement limitations experienced when performing power measurements, such as protecting expensive DUTs from power-induced damage, maintaining output integrity under dynamic load conditions, and characterizing dynamic current profiles.
With the launch of the Agilent N8900 series product line, Agilent's general-purpose power supply product family is now able to offer power supplies in higher power ranges at more economical prices. Engineers can operate multiple units in parallel to reach power levels above 100 kW class. Agilent's new power supplies are designed to meet the testing requirements of high-power applications such as electric and hybrid electric vehicles, wind and solar power inverters, and high-voltage lithium battery packs, and are expected to play an indispensable key role in the power industry.
Additionally, the new N8900 series is the world's first DC power supply equipped with autoranging output functionality in the high-power output range. The autoranging function provides test engineers with greater flexibility compared to conventional power supplies. While conventional power supplies generated only a single voltage and current combination at maximum output power, Agilent power supplies with autoranging functionality can generate a variety of desired voltage and current combinations.
Kari Fauber, General Manager of Agilent's Power and Energy Division, stated, "Agilent is very pleased to launch new products that can meet the needs of customers requiring high power," and added, "With Agilent's entry into the high-power market, engineers can now use clean and reliable power supplies at higher power levels more flexibly."
