Formlabs, Inc.'s dental resin 'Surgical Guide' has been recognized for its biocompatibility through the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety's certification, and 'Form 3B+' and '3BL', which are optimized for manufacturing finished dental resin products, are expected to attract attention from the industry in the future.

Formlabs announced on the 21st that its dental resin 'Surgical Guide' recently received certification from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS).

Formlabs' 'Surgical Guide' resin, which recently received MFDS certification, is a biocompatible material that uses 3D printing technology and can be used to produce surgical guides, pilot drill guides, and drilling templates.

The surgical guides are designed to print on Formlabs’ medical and dental specialized SLA 3D printers, the Form 3B+ and Form 3BL, at 100-micron and 50-micron layer line resolution, respectively, to produce precisely sized dental guides and templates.

FormlabWith this acquisition of the MFDS certification, Formlabs expects that sales of dental resin will expand and that the dental and medical premium 3D printers ‘Form 3B+’ and ‘Form 3BL’, which are optimized for the use of dental resin, will become more active in the dental market.

Form 3B+ and Form 3BL are optimized for the production of biocompatible materials for the dental and healthcare industries, featuring fast throughput, high quality and reliability.

In addition, the large-scale medical 3D printer Form 3BL can print life-size anatomical models of body parts on a single platform, meeting the rigorous standards required to produce customized surgical guides that can improve medical care and reduce surgical times.

In addition to this 'Surgical Guide' resin, Formlabs also expects to soon obtain MFDS certification for its 'Dental LT Clear' resin. Formlabs' 'Dental LT Clear' is characterized by its durability, high damage resistance, and clear printing with color-corrected material. In addition, it is polished to high optical transparency, preventing discoloration of the finished product over time.
