The Cabinet passed regulations on the establishment of committees.
Five key priorities selected: "We will become a competent government."

The Digital Platform Government Committee was launched to launch the digital platform government, a key strategy of the Yoon administration.

The Ministry of Science and ICT and the Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced on the 28th that they will establish a Digital Platform Government Committee under the President starting July 1st through a Cabinet meeting resolution.

The digital platform government is a key campaign promise of President Yoon Seok-yeol. It refers to a government where citizens, businesses, and the government work together to solve social problems and create new value on a digital platform where all data is connected.

The committee was established to promote task number 11 (creating the world's best digital platform government where all data is connected) among the 110 national tasks, and appointed no more than 30 private sector experts as committee members. Government members include the Minister of Strategy and Finance, the Minister of Science and ICT, the Minister of the Interior and Safety, and the Chairman of the Personal Information Protection Commission, and divisions and advisory groups were formed by field.

The Digital Platform Government Committee has set the following five key priorities for the successful implementation of the digital platform government: ‘comfortable citizens, innovative businesses, and a scientific government.’39; will be selected to promote the following: △provision of preemptive and customized services to the public, △implementation of scientific administration based on artificial intelligence and data, and △creation of an innovation ecosystem through cooperation among citizens, businesses, and the government.

The government announced that it plans to provide more convenient services in the future, such as customized services that automatically take care of government benefits so that citizens do not miss out on them due to unawareness, and submitting relevant documents only once to one location during the application process.

He also said that companies will be able to create businesses and develop market leadership capabilities by receiving data and core capabilities from the government.

The government added that it will increase the efficiency and accuracy of its work through scientific decision-making based on artificial intelligence and data, and become a competent government by introducing transparent and open work processes.

Meanwhile, the Yoon administration plans to begin supporting development for the use of software as a service (SaaS) to support the connection of all data.

Minister of Science and ICT Lee Jong-ho emphasized, “The digital platform government signifies a fundamental change in the way the government operates, and it is a task to create a new government system that will handle the next 10 to 20 years.” He added, “As the ministry in charge of innovative technology and industry, the Ministry of Science and ICT will work with related ministries, including the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, to dramatically improve public services and actively support the growth of innovative companies by creating digital platform government infrastructure and ecosystems.”
