(AnalogicTech™) (Nasdaq: AATI), an analog semiconductor company focused on providing innovative solutions to the consumer, industrial, and communications markets, today introduced the AAT4616 SmartSwitch™ family of fully programmable, low RDS(ON), ultra-precision current-limited P-channel MOSFET power switches designed for high-side load switching. Providing accurate +/- 5% current limiting, the AAT4616 family enables system designers to reduce the margins they typically have to tolerate in their systems. This allows them to maximize power usage from USB and other power supply rails or buses in devices such as HDTVs, set-top boxes, and tablet computers.

The AAT4616 family expands AnalogicTech's family of integrated load switches by adding the ultra-high accuracy (+/- 5% t) AAT4616 and high accuracy (+/- 10%) AAT4616A to the existing current limiting device family. System designers can also choose the optimal component for their end product with a variety of options, including active high/low operation, fault indication, resistor-controlled current limiting, and precision and multiple package options. The comprehensive range of options and benefits available in the AAT4616 family provides maximum flexibility to meet a variety of product design requirements.

Additionally, the AAT4616 family incorporates a variety of protection features, including reverse current protection, overtemperature shutdown, short-circuit protection, and fast transient response, ensuring safe system operation. Finally, the SOT23-5 version of the AAT4616 family is pin-compatible with the existing AAT4610 and AAT4614 parts, allowing existing end-products to be readily replaced with higher-performance current-limiting ICs, facilitating easy upgrades.
