Johnson Controls will provide an integrated disaster management platform to 124 E-Mart stores nationwide to ensure the safety of employees and customers.

Johnson Controls International Korea (hereinafter Johnson Controls Korea) and E-Mart announced on the 30th that they have introduced an integrated disaster control platform to ensure the safety of E-Mart buildings nationwide and have strengthened smarter disaster response functions.

The Integrated Disaster Management Platform is a platform that comprehensively monitors, manages, and recognizes the safety status of a building even in the event of a sudden disaster, thereby directing and executing a response more quickly and accurately.

We support rapid response and evacuation by applying established standard operating procedures (SOPs) for each situation, such as linking the most appropriate equipment in a disaster situation, notifying relevant parties through the collection-analysis-verification-resolution-reporting stages, and guiding evacuation.

It is considered an essential element in buildings because it enables a quick initial response and secures the golden time in the event of an accident in large spaces with large crowds, such as high-rise buildings, logistics warehouses, ships, and station airports.

Johnson Controls and E-Mart have established an integrated disaster management platform based on the 'Safety Management Principles' that prioritize the safety of customers and employees visiting E-Mart stores nationwide.By introducing the foam and applying it to the E-Mart building, we have created a safer building environment.

The solution introduced at E-Mart is Johnson Controls Situational Awareness Management (JSAM), a unified disaster management platform from Johnson Controls that comprehensively accommodates, integrates, and operates all systems within the building.

Johnson Controls and E-Mart began piloting JSAM in 2018 and established standard operating procedures for E-Mart disaster management. Since then, through continued collaboration between the two companies, the number of stores implementing the solution has gradually increased, with JSAM now fully implemented across 124 E-Mart stores nationwide.

An E-Mart representative stated, "Through our collaboration with Johnson Controls, we've established capabilities and standards for responding to emergencies more intelligently. We believe that the introduction of Johnson Controls' integrated disaster management platform has further enhanced the safety and trustworthiness of E-Mart stores nationwide, which prioritize customer safety."

A Johnson Controls JSAM official said, “In the past, in large shopping malls, the facility team and security team operated their own systems, but now they can actively share the same information through JSAM.” He added, “This allows us to avoid unnecessary dispatches and increase work efficiency. In particular, in the event of a fire, we can quickly check the situation and deliver mission cards to all employees, preventing the situation from escalating into a larger accident.”

JSAM has been implemented in major landmarks around the world, including Lotte World Tower in Korea, Heathrow Airport in the UK, San Diego International Airport in the US, Qingdao International Airport in China, and the World Cup stadiums in Brazil. JSAM is currently in version 10.5, with further enhancements planned for the future.
