Ministry of Science and ICT, SW Development Security Best Practices Contest

We are holding a contest for best practices to discover application cases of software development security.The Ministry of Science and ICT (Minister Lee Jong-ho) and the Korea Internet & Security Agency (President Lee Won-tae, hereinafter 'KISA') announced on the 13th that they will hold the '2022 Software (SW) Development Security Best Practices Contest' to promote best practices for applying security during software development to domestic software developers.
This contest is the second of its kind, following last year's '2021 Software Development Security Best Practices Contest,' and is being held to discover and share excellent examples of software development security applied by companies, with the aim of spreading awareness of its application among many firms in the private sector.
The application period is from September 13 to October 7, and any company representative who has participated in the application of software development security can participate in the contest as an individual.
To participate, complete the application form and the best practice example and submit them via email (swcontest.kisa@kisa.or.kr).

We plan to select six outstanding works through a review in October based on criteria such as the appropriateness, excellence, and practical effectiveness of the exemplary cases, and one Grand Prize (Minister of Science and ICT Award, prize money of 2 million won), two Excellence Prizes (Minister of Science and ICT Award, prize money of 1 million won), and three Encouragement Prizes (President of the Korea Internet & Security Agency Award, prize money worth 500,000 won) will be awarded.
The awards ceremony will be held at the '12th SW Development Security Conference' scheduled for this November, and the winner of the top prize will have the opportunity to present a best practice at the conference.
Kim Jeong-sam, Director General of Information Security and Network Policy at the Ministry of Science and ICT, stated, “We hope for active participation from software-related companies and developers so that we can spread awareness of software development security through this contest, provide assistance to the software development field, and strive to create a safe software development environment.”

As enterprises increase demand for integrated management and automation in the construction and operation of Security Operations Centers (SOC), Kaspersky has disclosed updates to its B2B security product suite 'Kaspersky Next'. This update expands EPP, EDR, XDR, and SIEM integration through a single console based on OSMP, incorporates AI capabilities such as DLL hijacking detection and suspicious account takeover behavior identification, and includes integration with generative AI assistant tool KIRA. The company stated that in large-scale deployment environments, EDR Expert can reduce resource requirements by up to 30%, and XDR Expert by up to 60%.

Teori Selected as AI Voucher Supplier… Supplying LLM Security Solutions
Cybersecurity company Theori has been selected as a supplier for the 2026 AI Voucher Support Program. The company plans to address information leakage and regulatory compliance issues that arise during generative AI adoption through its LLM security solution 'AlphaPrism'. The solution is designed to analyze the context of prompts and source code to identify sensitive information such as personal data and authentication keys, and to continue AI utilization through masking methods rather than simple blocking. The government's AI Voucher Program supports demand enterprises with up to 200 million won per project for solution purchase costs. Based on recent application cases at POSCO DX, Theori plans to respond to expanding demand for enterprise AI security.

Cisco Unveils Agentic AI Security Framework at RSAC 2026
Cisco announced security capabilities targeting the entire process of enterprise AI agent adoption at RSAC 2026 held in San Francisco, USA.
