
Agilent Korea (CEO and President Yoon Deok-kwon) has launched the E6640A EXM wireless test set. This is a test product for manufacturing production testing that offers superior performance and innovative scalability, capable of testing up to 32 cellular and wireless connected devices in parallel. The new EXM provides fast measurement speeds, accuracy, and multi-ports for the mass production of multi-format wireless communication terminals and devices. It also supports testing of standard and WLAN chipsets used in the latest mobile phones, enabling faster-than-expected test development speeds.
Guy Sene, Agilent Vice President and President of the Instrumentation Business Unit, stated, “To solve challenges in manufacturing, customers are seeking high-speed, accurate parallel device test environments that can maximize throughput and yield.” He added, “EXM is designed to accommodate the changing requirements of evolving test environments. EXM features modular scalability to enable faster and more accurate testing of next-generation devices and standards in a rapidly changing test environment.”
Providing the highest level of scalability, the EXM consists of four independent transmit/receive (TRX) channels composed of high-performance vector signal generators and vector signal analyzers. Each TRX includes four RF ports providing industry-leading port density, along with two full-duplex and two half-duplex ports. Furthermore, to expand scalability and port density, the EXM is designed to connect up to 32 DUTs using multi-port adapter technology.
Today's products are being released in integrated forms packed with advanced technology. Accordingly, EXM supports a bandwidth of 160 MHz, a frequency range up to 6 GHz, and a wide range of multi-format testing from LTE-A to 802.11ac, including MIMO. The industry-recognized Agilent X-Series measurement applications provide calibration and verification test environments suitable for a wide range of standards.
To maximize manufacturing output, EXM provides a quad-core processor, a high-bandwidth PXIe backplane, and enhanced sequence analyzer capabilities, and supports the ability to perform multiple measurements at once with a single data acquisition to further reduce test time.
Excellent signal quality and outstanding measurement accuracy ensure confidence in measurement results. For example, power level accuracy is 3.8 GHz (±0.5 dB), which is the industry's best, and the receiver EVM noise floor is -42 dBm in 802.11ac.
