TI Korea (CEO Kent Jeon, www.ti.com/ww/kr) December 24, 2013 – TI has donated a total of $440,152 (approximately 467 million won) to the American Red Cross as typhoon relief funds to support recovery efforts from Typhoon Haiyan, which struck the Philippines last month.

This amount comprises $170,000 donated by employees and retirees, $170,000 from the Texas Instruments Foundation, and $100,000 in emergency funds immediately donated by the TI Foundation following the typhoon's occurrence.

Neal Litvack, Director of Development at the American Red Cross, stated, "TI's donation will be used by the Red Cross to provide urgent support needed by Typhoon Haiyan survivors in the Philippines and to support future recovery and reconstruction efforts."

When Typhoon Haiyan struck the Philippines last month, it resulted in thousands of casualties and over 650,000 displaced persons in the central Philippines region. The Philippine government urgently requested relief assistance from the international community, and the American Red Cross established a typhoon relief fund. TI established a dedicated online donation website to allow employees and retirees to conveniently donate online.

Andy Smith, Director of Corporate Philanthropy at TI, stated, "The charitable donations from TI employees and retirees around the world stem from genuine compassion for the people of the Philippines affected by the typhoon. Additionally, the TI Foundation's donation was an excellent way to support countries where our fellow TI employees and their families live and work."

Although TI employees in the Philippines were not directly affected by this typhoon, they quickly participated in raising relief funds. As one of the largest export companies and a multinational semiconductor company in the Philippines, TI has maintained a long-standing presence in the country. TI Philippines (TIPI) has been operating in Baguio since 1980 and in the Clark region since 2007.
