Agilent announces spin-off of 'measurement instruments business division' - new company name Keysight Technologies

Agilent Technologies announced that it has selected 'Keysight Technologies' as the new company name for its measurement instruments business division, which is expected to be spun off in early November 2014.
Keysight signifies the ability to see what others cannot see—that is, to provide insight that can transform the landscape of the evolving technology market. The new company slogan, 'Unlocking measurement insights for 75 years,' embodies the corporate spirit carried forward over the past 75 years since 1939, when Hewlett-Packard, the parent company of Keysight, was founded.
Ron Nersesian, President and CEO of Keysight, stated, "Keysight reflects the corporate culture of Hewlett-Packard (HP)—trust and innovation—and Agilent's leading measurement technology." He continued, "The new company name demonstrates corporate values such as innovation, insight, and future-orientation. Keysight will revive the corporate spirit of HP, which was born in Silicon Valley, the 'first' advanced technology hub, and as a new company, we aim to provide customers with next-generation leading products and insights to contribute to the advancement of the next generation of technology."
Keysight will be the global leader in test and measurement, and will own Agilent's measurement instruments business division, which ranks first in data-driven communications ecosystems, aerospace and defense, electronics, computer, and semiconductor sectors. As a new company with the largest sales and support organization in the electronics and measurement industry and diverse product portfolios, Keysight will dedicate itself exclusively to the electronic measurement industry going forward and concentrate investment on test and measurement customers.
Keysight is scheduled to launch as an independent company in early November 2014. It will be headquartered in Santa Rosa, California, with approximately 9,500 employees across 30 countries.
Keysight Technologies is expected to be listed on NASDAQ under the ticker symbol KEY. The company website is www.keysight.com.
