Schneider Electric's high-voltage digital protection relay 'PowerLogic P7' minimizes damage from electrical fires that may occur in industrial sites such as buildings and factories.

Schneider Electric announced on the 18th that it has launched the ultra-high voltage digital protection relay 'PowerLogic P7'.

Digital protection relays sample analog voltage and current at regular time intervals when a power fault occurs, convert them into digital values, and apply protection algorithms within the relay to quickly respond to power system faults and failures. In particular, they prevent power leakage and minimize damage from electrical fires that may occur in industrial sites such as buildings and factories.

Schneider said that the 'PowerLogic P7' can quickly respond to faults and failures in large-scale distribution power systems with the flexibility and digital performance of the equipment.

△The main features are convenient operation through a color touch screen and understanding of the distribution status through an interface such as graphs and pictures. △The modular board allows for easy module replacement in case of equipment and communication problems. △It meets the IP54 (dustproof and waterproof) rating and is durable enough to be used in environments from -40°C to 70°C, protecting the power system.

In addition, PowerLogic P7 operates based on △IoT and supports mobile applications. With the 'EcoStruxure Power Device App', operation and maintenance are possible without directly operating the circuit breaker, and with the 'mySchneider App', real-time advice and technical support from Schneider Electric experts can be quickly received.

This product is the first of the company's relay products to comply with IEC62443 Level 2 (SL 2), a cybersecurity standard that focuses on industrial network security, and has obtained IEC61850-9-2, enabling it to receive measurement values based on a process bus communication platform, making it optimized for digital substations.
