Agilent Korea Announces Infinite Playtime and Multi-Channel Support for Arbitrary Waveform Generators

Agilent Korea (CEO-President Yoon Deok-kwon) announced streaming and multi-channel synchronization capabilities for the M8190A high-speed arbitrary waveform generator. With these new features, engineers in low-observation radar and high-density communications will be able to test multi-emitters more realistically with long playtimes and parallel signal generation.
The M8190A combines streaming with the ability to synchronize up to 12 channels, enabling engineers to easily perform simulations of extreme conditions. Engineers can now simulate the entire flight of an aircraft instead of just milliseconds of flight data at a time. Real-time events influence signal scenarios, allowing for the most realistic testing possible. The M8190A can now generate waveforms even while downloading new waveforms to memory. This represents a significant improvement over the limitations of previous Arbitrary Waveform Generators (AWGs) and streamline testing. These new features are now included in the M8190A.
Before these new features were added, engineers could not change AWG signal waveforms at runtime. The M8190A allows for instant changes to amplitude, frequency, and phase through Agilent's proprietary ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuit), which means engineers no longer need to perform time-consuming downloads to change parameters. In addition, margin testing can be performed more efficiently by changing parameters during runtime.

Engineers working on applications requiring multi-channel support, such as radar testing, multi-emitter simulation, and parallel-lane testing, can make good use of the new M8192A synchronization module (1U AXIe unit).
Jürgen Becks, General Manager of Agilent’s Digital Photonics Test Division, stated, “In addition to providing the best available signal quality, the new features of the M8190A give real-world testing a new spin,” adding, “These features overcome traditional test bottlenecks and increase test efficiency and repeatability. Our customers can now generate any signal they need and produce as many signals as necessary of the appropriate quality.”
From now on, the M8190A comes with infinite playtime and the ability to change parameters on the fly by default, but these features can also be added to existing M8190A models via a software upgrade. The M8192A synchronization module can be used with new or existing M8190A AWGs.
