Hong Kong, January 24, 2014 – Altera Corporation announced today the release of a comprehensive JESD204B solution designed to simplify the integration of Altera FPGAs and high-speed data converters into systems using the latest JEDEC JESD204B standard. This interface standard is used in many applications across various fields, including radar, radioheads, medical imaging equipment, software-defined radio, and industrial applications. Altera’s JESD204B solution includes intellectual property (IP) cores, design references, development boards, and interoperability reports for the latest data converters released in the industry. This extensive JESD204B resource solution is available through the online resource center. The resource center enables users to rapidly develop JESD204B-based serial interfaces while providing designers with the flexibility to select the FPGAs and data converters best suited to their system power and performance requirements.

JESD204B is a high-speed serial interface standard that significantly simplifies circuit board design when FPGAs are used with analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) and digital-to-analog converters (DACs). Altera has verified device interoperability with leading data converter suppliers in the industry, including Analog Devices, IDT, and Texas Instruments (TI), and is actively expanding its product supply by verifying interoperability with many other data converter companies. Altera offers JESD204B solutions supporting the latest 28nm products, including high-performance Stratix® V FPGAs, mid-range Arria® V FPGAs and SoCs, and low-power, low-cost Cyclone® V FPGAs and SoCs.
