Linear Launches 45V 500mA LDO

January 28, 2014 – Linear Technology Korea (CEO Hong Sa-kwak) announced the release of the LT3065, a high-voltage, low-noise, low-dropout linear regulator featuring precision, programmable current limiting, and a Power Good flag. This device provides up to 500mA of output current with a 300mV dropout voltage at full load. It features a wide input voltage range of 1.8V to 45V, and the output voltage is adjustable within the 0.6V to 40V range. A single REF/BYP pin capacitor provides low-noise operation of just 25µVRMS over a bandwidth of 10Hz to 100kHz and offers a soft-start function to prevent output voltage overshoot upon turn-on. Output voltage tolerance is highly accurate at ±2% across all line, load, and temperature conditions.
The LT3065 operates with a very small, low-cost 3.3µF ceramic output capacitor and optimizes stability and transient response. The LT3065 PWRGD flag indicates output regulation. A single resistor programs an external precision current limit function (±10% at temperature). Furthermore, the device's internal protection circuitry includes reverse battery protection, reverse output protection, reverse current protection, current limiting with foldback function, and thermal limiting. The wide input and output voltage range, fast transient response, and low standby current of 55µA (operation) and less than 1µA (shutdown) of this device make it an excellent choice for industrial power supplies, avionics power supplies, automotive power supplies, battery-powered systems, instruments requiring optimal operating time, and high-reliability power supplies requiring more extensive protection features.
The LT3065 is available in 10-pin 3mm x 3mm DFN and 12-pin MSOP packages with enhanced thermal performance in a compact footprint. The E and I grade versions are available out of the box with operating junction temperatures from -40°C to +125°C. The H grade is rated for temperatures from -40°C to +150°C, and the MP grade is standardized from -55°C to +150°C.

ST Launches 75V Drive IC Targeting 48V Industrial Motor Driving
ST Microelectronics has unveiled the 'STSPIN9P' series of 75V motor drive ICs tailored for 48V-class industrial drive system design.
