
February 7, 2014 – Micrel Korea (CEO Oh Young-joon, www.micrel.com), a leading provider of high-performance linear and power solutions as well as LAN, timing and communication solutions, has launched the SY7557xL clock distribution product family that provides very low phase noise and industry-leading output-to-output skew for PCIe (PCI-Express) reference clock signals, along with PL6020xxx and PL6070xxx clock generators. The new product family exceeds current PCIe Gen1, Gen2, and Gen3 standard requirements and supports SST for EMI reduction. The PCIe product family complements Micrel's growing high-performance clock generator and clock distribution products. Samples can be ordered through Micrel Korea or authorized distributors.
Micrel's PCIe clock generators offer 1, 2, 4, and 8 outputs with industry-leading phase jitter of less than 200fs and output-to-output skew of 50ps. Additionally, SST (Spread Spectrum Technology) supported in the PL6070xxx reduces EMI. The clock synthesizer accommodates basic crystal and reference inputs of 25MHz and generates output frequencies ranging from 25MHz to 200MHz with 100MHz phase noise performance of -135dBc at 10kHz offset. Meanwhile, the PCIe clock synthesizer can operate at 2.5V and 3.3V supply voltages, enabling easy design and reduced power consumption.
Micrel's new SY75576L and SY75578L clock buffers have 4 and 8 outputs respectively and provide high-performance solutions for existing and new PCIe system designs. The SY75576L and SY75578L deliver output-to-output skew of less than 50ps and very low additive phase jitter of less than 150fs for demanding PCI Express-based server and storage, networking applications. Through the product's robust performance, system-level design and PCB layout can be simplified, thereby shortening time-to-market.

All devices are offered in industrial temperature range from –40°C to +85°C and feature Green, RoHS, and PFOS-compliant packages. Devices are available in 6-pin SOT (1 output), 16-pin 3mm x 3mm QFN (2 outputs), 24-pin 4mm x 4mm QFN (4 outputs), and 44-pin 7mm x 7mm QFN (8 outputs) package options.
