Avago Technologies Unveils Two Highly Integrated Smart Gate Drive Optocouplers for Motor Drives and Inverters

February 19, 2014 - Avago Technologies Korea, a leading supplier of analog interface components for wireless, wireline, and industrial applications (CEO: Jeon Seong-min: www.avagotech.kr), today unveiled two new highly integrated smart gate drive optocoupler devices, the ACPL-336J and ACPL-337J.
The ACPL-336J and ACPL-337J feature rail-to-rail outputs of 2.5A and 4A respectively, and can directly drive high-power MOSFETs or IGBTs. These new devices deliver high output current and rail-to-rail output, integrated LED driver, active Miller clamp, DESAT blanking current source, and ULVO (Under Voltage Lock-Out) feedback control circuitry, providing a complete and cost-effective gate drive solution for motor control and power inverter applications.
Kheng-Jam Lee, Marketing Director of Avago's Isolation Products Division, states, "Due to increased complexity in gate drive design to meet the demands for high power and high efficiency in modern applications, customers using Avago's market-proven HCPL-316J device have required higher levels of on-chip integration of key gate drive functional blocks."
