The Ministry of Science and ICT is launching the 'Eum5G Support Portal' service in earnest to expand Eum5G nationwide.

The Ministry of Science and ICT announced that it and the Korea Communications Commission will launch the 'Eum5G Support Portal' service in earnest starting Tuesday, January 31. The service is available to anyone, not just Eum5G participating organizations, and a website ( eum5gportal.kr and eum5gportal.kr) will be built that will collect information individually provided by Eum5G-related organizations, operators, equipment/terminal suppliers, etc. in one place.

The Eum5G Support Portal provides various information related to Eum5G, including the latest domestic and international construction cases, technology, equipment development, and certification status, the latest trends related to Eum5G, government support projects for Eum5G by ministry, and the status and statistics of Eum5G wireless stations.

In addition, administrative and technical support for applications for 5G connectivity, such as guidance on frequency application and business registration procedures and interference analysis, are provided online. Users can receive or share information and file complaints through real-time information sharing and Q&A for each issue. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Science and ICT completed the frequency supply to existing 5G service providers Wizcore Co., Ltd. (CEO Park Deok-geun), KTMOS North Co., Ltd. (CEO Kim Seong-in, hereinafter referred to as “KTMOS North”), and Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. (President Hwang Ju-ho) on February 1. All of the frequency supplies this time were to existing providers, who either additionally expanded their service areas with a 100MHz width in the 4.7GHz band or expanded the area of their existing service areas.

The Ministry of Science and ICT's Director of Radio Policy Choi Woo-hyuk said, "The significance of the launch of this E-5G Support Portal lies in the establishment of a comprehensive publicity and support hub that links related organizations and E-5G demand-supply participating companies." He added, "The government plans to continue to promote public-private communication, such as disseminating domestic and international best practices and continuous institutional improvements in close cooperation with related organizations, and will actively support more companies to lead the digital transformation through mutual cooperation."
