Commvault Named 'Leader in Kubernetes Data Protection' for 3 Consecutive Years

Commvault has been named an outperformer in the Leaders Group for three consecutive years in the GigaOm Radar report on Kubernetes data protection.
Commvault (Chua Chee Pin, Executive Vice President for ASEAN, Korea, and Japan), a global enterprise leader in data management across on-premises, cloud, and SaaS environments, announced on the 7th that it was selected as an 'Outperformer' belonging to the 'Leader' group for the third consecutive year in the GigaOm Radar report on Kubernetes data protection by the technology research institute GigaOm.
Commvault was evaluated alongside 14 other vendors, focusing on criteria for execution, roadmap, and innovation capabilities.
Giga Om stated that Commvault is "excellent for efficiently combining solutions for SaaS applications, on-premises (VM-based) infrastructure, containers, and databases."
Commvault protects Kubernetes data through its 'Commvault Complete Data Protection' software and SaaS-based 'Metallic' solution, enabling customers to leverage an extensive ecosystemIt provides flexibility to choose a storage provider.
Joep Piscaer, an analyst at GigaOm, stated, “Because the market is highly dynamic, many vendors are striving to ensure consistency in multi-cloud environments and provide modern application and data mobility. Commvault is suitable for hybrid and complex applications as it can support virtual machines (VMs), containers, (cloud) data services, and databases on a single platform. Furthermore, Commvault solutions’ security and ransomware management capabilities are easily scalable, making them suitable for large-scale enterprise environments.”
As Kubernetes and containers have not yet replaced all cloud and traditional applications, protection strategies must be in place once they are integrated into application environments.
Last year, Commvault significantly advanced protection for Kubernetes workloads by integrating fully automated management, replication, migration, and security enhancement capabilities across its Intelligent Data Services portfolio.
According to the Gigaom Radar report, Commvault provides effective protection for hybrid applications running on Kubernetes, VMs, and cloud services, and integrates backup operations on a single platform.

Databricks Unveils Open AI Security Monitoring 'Lakewatch'
Databricks entered the security market on March 24 by unveiling LakeWatch, an open-source agentic SIEM. The core functionality of this product is to integrate and analyze security, IT, and business data in a single environment to support AI-based threat detection and investigation. The company explained that it reduces the limitations of existing security operations centers, which have had to forgo some data due to high cost structures, and enables large-scale data analysis and automation based on open formats and ecosystems. LakeWatch is currently offered as a private preview, with Adobe and Dropbox mentioned as early customers.
