Schneider Electric Korea is increasing the efficiency of smart factory production facilities with its digital motor management system, TeSys Island.

Schneider Electric Korea announced on the 7th that it is providing 'TeSys Island', a digital motor management system to improve facility efficiency in smart factories.

A key technology in the Industry 4.0 environment and smart factories is 'communication,' which means digitizing data about motors and motor starters, which are responsible for starting and switching the motors.

Schneider Electric's Tesis Island is a digital motor management system that provides connectivity for smart factories. Conventional motor management systems require auxiliary relays and contacts to connect motor starter control and data to a host PLC, requiring cables for each point to be connected to the PLC I/O. Additionally, electronic motor protection relays can be added to provide advanced protection capabilities.

The newly released Tesis Island is said to integrate functions by simplifying all wiring with a communication module and ribbon cable. Wiring work becomes easier as it is solved by connecting a communication cable to the PLC.

This product helps manage equipment loads, featuring efficient module combinations for installation. It can manage motors and other electrical loads up to 80A, eliminating the need for specialized knowledge of electrical and equipment configuration.

It can also be used with Tesis Avatar, which allows simulation of machine design, load integration, and control in online tools such as digital twins, and allows selection of individual equipment components for commissioning.

It has a built-in webpage called the Operational and Maintenance Tool (OMT). It allows data monitoring and configuration changes, and can be accessed via mobile or the web.

It is integrated with EcoStruxure Machine Advisor, a cloud-based equipment monitoring service. Users can remotely access all equipment via the cloud to track its operating status and receive proactive alerts when abnormal electrical load operation is detected, minimizing equipment downtime.

Meanwhile, Schneider Electric's Tesis Island will be on display at the 'Innovation Summit Korea 2023' to be held on Wednesday the 15th.
