February 25, 2014, Seoul - NXP Semiconductors (NASDAQ: NXPI) (MWC Hall 7, Booth 7E30) announced that it will showcase advanced technologies applicable to various innovative applications at the Mobile World Congress (MWC), Europe's leading technology event. Playing a key role in the evolution of connected technology, NXP plans to exhibit diverse applications and services that implement secure connections for a smart world.

Consumers want to use the internet at home, in their automobiles, or even while on the move. To support this "connected revolution," confidence in data security is essential, and access to data must be restricted to authorized individuals and programs only. As the world's leading company in the ID solutions sector, NXP is the world's largest supplier of security technologies protecting banking, credit, and public transportation payment cards, safely protecting tens of billions of financial transactions daily.

NXP is also leading the adoption of secure mobile transactions and NFC solutions, with 90% of all NFC-enabled mobile devices utilizing NXP technology. Mobile devices are fundamentally changing how we interact with the physical world, and the fact that 280 million NFC devices were sold in 2013 alone demonstrates the convenience of mobile devices (ABI Research). - "Smart" wireless charging pad design – combining Qi and NFC
- NFC interaction between smartphones and everyday applications including coffee machine product selection
- Tapping NFC tags at online checkout – mitigating cyber attack risks in online transactions
- NXP's MIFARE mobile ticketing solution
- Demonstration of NXP's in-car entertainment, car-to-car, and car-to-infrastructure communication solutions
