Rockwell Automation supports innovation in domestic manufacturing sites by providing the latest products and solutions through the combination of OT experience and IT technology.

Rockwell Automation announced that it will participate in the 'Smart Factory & Automation Industry Exhibition 2023' held at COEX from the 8th to the 10th. On the opening day, the 8th, a press conference was held to introduce Rockwell Automation's solutions for building smart factories and digital transformation.

At a press conference on this day, Rockwell Automation CEO Lee Yong-ha stated, "Under the promise to provide customized business results called 'Results Achieved,' we will support the digital transformation of domestic manufacturing companies integrating OT/IT, encompassing everything from the hardware sector where we have traditional strengths to the software sector based on AR, VR, and cloud."

Director Kwon Oh-hyuk, Head of the Software and Control Business Division, stated, "Rockwell Automation provides a connected enterprise through its core automation platform," and introduced automation IIoT industry innovation business solutions.

Rockwell Automation's automation IIoT industrial innovation business solutions are integrated solutions that encompass everything from consulting and model realization to software and control. Based on the Industrial Internet of Things platform 'ThingWorx®', these solutions ultimately converge the edge and the cloud.

Ultimately, Rockwell Automation continues to strengthen its FactoryTalk® product family to provide everything from MES solutions to IoT platforms and data analytics to realize smart manufacturing. The goal is to develop all factory solutions based on software so that they are all cloud-based.

Director Shin Dong-jin, Head of the ITD Business Division, explained Rockwell Automation's smart devices. He emphasized, "Without smart devices, a connected enterprise cannot be realized," adding that "products such as sensors play a fundamental role in transforming the physical world into the digital world."

It is projected that more than 50 billion smart devices will be connected through networks by 2030. This connectivity enables the recording and analysis of smart device data, allowing for the optimization of not only equipment but also manufacturing processes.

Director Shin stated, "To be called a smart factory, one must implement the process of converting component data into information, the process of creating knowledge that generates logic for ultra-optimizing manufacturing facilities through in-depth analysis of information value and machine learning, and the actual optimization process."

Executive Director Choi Tae-neung, Head of the LifeCycle Service Business Division, introduced the lifecycle service launched in 2020. This was created by combining the two business units of Solutions and Services, and performs decision support through the recruitment of highly capable experts, customer strategy support, and OT/IT convergence.

Executive Director Choi stated, "We are recently expanding into the domestic market, including the pharmaceutical sector, in the security field. In particular, as customer interest in OT security is increasing and the pace of investment has accelerated rapidly, we plan to launch industrial wireless solutions and cybersecurity solutions in collaboration with Claroty, Cisco, and others to respond to this."

CEO Lee Yong-ha emphasized that Rockwell Automation's ultimate goal is the integration of hardware, software, and services. "With recent multi-billion dollar investments underway, we pledge to simplify the complexity of our customers' businesses by fully mobilizing our hardware, software, and service capabilities," he said.

"In addition, we are paying attention to the electric vehicle battery market this year, as well as pharmaceuticals and food," he said. "The three companies responsible for waste battery disposal and sectors such as hydrogen have high potential for sustainable growth, and Rockwell Automation will actively accelerate business growth throughout the entire manufacturing process."

Meanwhile, Rockwell Automation exhibited its latest digital transformation solutions at its booth at the 'Smart Factory & Automation Industry Exhibition 2023', organized into a total of five themes including AR/VR, cloud-based hardware and software, network, and cybersecurity.

Under the Digital Transformation theme, VR/AR applications, the industrial IoT platform FactoryTalk® InnovationSuite, and thin client management software ThinManager are being showcased. Under the Cloud-based Solutions theme, FactoryTalk, a cloud-based modular factory automation software solution, will be exhibited. Under the Capability Enhancement Solutions theme, FactoryTalk Edge Gateway, Batch, Data View, and Logix AI will be displayed, ranging from analytics and data management for smart factories to process solutions. Under the Connected Services Solutions theme, the Network Security & Service (NSS) security solution will be showcased, while under the Production Optimization theme, an ICT product line capable of optimizing production in manufacturing sectors such as EV batteries and semiconductors will be exhibited.
