Xilinx Launches New Reference Designs for 4x100G OTN Transponders and 2x100G OTN Switching Applications Featuring Industry's Only Single-Chip Solution
Xilinx Korea (Country Manager Heung-sik Ahn) March 12, 2014 – Xilinx announced new reference designs for 4x100G OTN transponders and 200G OTN switching applications featuring single-chip solutions at the international optical exhibition, OFC 2014 (Optical Fiber Communication Conference and Exhibition). Together with Xilinx’s all-programmable 3D ICs and SmartCORE™ IP, these reference designs provide customers with a fully functional evaluation platform, enabling the creation and advancement of more differentiated high-bandwidth OTN applications. Visitors can view a demonstration of the related technology at Xilinx booth #3245 at OFC 2014, which is being held in San Francisco, USA, from March 11 to 13.
Gilles Garcia, Director of Wired Communications at Xilinx, stated, “Xilinx’s new OTN reference design focuses on the low latency, high integration, and performance required by today’s multi-100G OTN applications.” He added, “Xilinx’s single-chip 400G OTN solution is unique in the industry and on our own evaluation platform, and when combined with the new reference design, designers can stay one step ahead in the development process, increase productivity, and shorten time-to-market.”
The new OTN reference design can be used to evaluate the Xilinx Virtex®-7 VC730 3D IC OTN target platform. This reference design includes comprehensive software APIs available regardless of the operating system, simplifying and accelerating the design of all-programmable smarter networks.
