The Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI) is setting an example by consistently participating in neighborly love and sharing by providing 3.7 billion won in scholarships over 25 years to middle and high school students in Daejeon who are achieving excellent academic results despite difficult circumstances. A total of over 700 students have received the ETRI Love Scholarship.

The Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI) announced on the 26th that it will hold the '2023 Love Scholarship and Scholarship Certificate Presentation Ceremony' at its premises.

Fifteen new students were selected for the Love Scholarship this year.

Accordingly, a total of 144 million won in scholarships will be awarded to 60 middle and high school students in the Daejeon Metropolitan City area.

The 'One Share of Love Campaign' is a donation program in which ETRI employees voluntarily raise funds to support the future leaders of the local community.

Scholarships are collected from ETRI employees' monthly salaries in increments of 5,000 won, with the amount of money raised being desired.

The funds raised will be distributed to selected 'Scholarship of Love' students from among middle and high school students in Daejeon Metropolitan City in cooperation with the Daejeon Community Chest of Korea.

Selected scholarship recipients receive a scholarship of 200,000 won per month until they graduate from high school.

The 'One Account of Love Campaign' has continued for 25 years to date, raising approximately 3.7 billion won and helping 713 scholarship recipients.

The number of students entering university due to this also amounts to about 388.

In addition to the Love Scholarship, the research institute is striving to become an inclusive ETRI by practicing love for local neighbors based on employee donations.

Last year, we continued to provide support for mutual prosperity with local neighbors, including providing Onnuri gift certificates for the Lunar New Year and Chuseok holidays to social welfare facilities and low-income groups struggling due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, as well as coal briquettes and kimchi-making assistance for vulnerable households.
