Acronis is expanding its presence in the Korean market with the launch of its integrated cyber protection solution, 'Acronis EDR'.

Acronis held a press conference at the JW Marriott Hotel on the 15th and announced the official launch of 'Acronis Advanced Security and EDR,' which can be used with Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud.

At the event, Acronis stated, "Through our integrated cyber protection solution 'Acronis EDR,' companies can reduce the complexity of cyber security management. The Korean market is a key region within the Asia-Pacific area, and we will expand our market in earnest, starting with the establishment of a data center two years ago."

With the deepening of digitalization, data volume has increased tenfold in the past two years, and security threats have also risen to the point where damages from cyber hacking, including ransomware, have reached $6 trillion. EDR has been mandated as a compliance requirement to counter new sophisticated attacks and prepare for inevitable breaches.

'EDR (Endpoint Detection & Response)' is a solution for endpoint detection and response.

It collects information during processes such as downloads and patches occurring on endpoints like servers and PCs, detects and suppresses security incidents, and performs post-incident handling and prevention functions in the event of errors. Unlike anti-malware, EDR goes beyond mere detection and interruption to identify hacker intents and provide comprehensive guidance on the attack. The newly released 'Acronis EDR' features new capabilities such as AI-based attack analysis. By reducing complexity and streamlining workflows to support efficient operations, both Managed Service Providers (MSPs) and enterprise customers can enhance security.

Acronis CEO Patrick Perlmaubuler claimed, "Acronis EDR has achieved 61% greater cost efficiency compared to other companies' solutions."

Acronis EDR integrates with CyberProtect's backup and recovery, endpoint management, and endpoint security features to provide a wide range of recovery options.

Easily and quickly analyze security incidents, prioritize them, minimize downtime, and maintain business continuity. It can be easily controlled via a simple interface using a switch.

In addition, the cyber protection solution can be implemented without specialized knowledge thanks to easy-to-understand instructions. It explains that problem solving and recovery are possible through four stages—investigation, correction, recovery, and prevention—with just one click.

Meanwhile, Acronis’s cyber protection solutions have been adopted by more than 18,000 service providers and 750,000 enterprises and service organizations in over 150 countries. Acronis Cyber Protect prevented more than 1 million attacks and protected more than 2.66 million workloads last year.

"Acronis recently recorded a significant market growth rate after attracting $3.5 billion in investment," explained Director Jeon. "Customers are increasingly adopting it as a preventative measure following security incidents such as the Kakao outage last year."

In addition, they stated, “In Korea, we are primarily targeting mid-sized and larger enterprises that are aware of EDR, and we are continuing a strategy that emphasizes the necessity of adoption,” adding, “There is still significant growth potential for Acronis in the Korean market, which is a core business hub.”
