TI Selected as World's Most Ethical Company for 8 Consecutive Years in 2014
TI Korea (CEO Kent Chien, www.ti.com/ww/kr) March 26, 2014 – TI (CEO Kent Chien) has been named as a 'world's most ethical company' by the Ethisphere Institute, a leading global corporate ethics research organization.
TI has made the list of ethical companies for the eighth consecutive year this year, earning recognition as a company that consistently demonstrates ethical leadership and improves corporate practices. This year, only 5 companies in the 'electronics' sector were selected.
David Solomon, TI's corporate ethics officer, stated, "TI regards the ability to operate ethically and legally as a core asset alongside technological capabilities," and added "TI applies the highest ethical standards across all aspects of business operations. Through this, we have demonstrated our commitment to responsibility toward customers, suppliers, investors, employees, and communities."
The 'world's most ethical company' selection is based on the Ethics Quotient™ framework developed by the Ethisphere Institute to evaluate organizational performance in an objective and standardized manner. The collected information provides comprehensive sampling against clear criteria of core competencies.
Scores are evaluated across five categories: 'Ethics and Legal Compliance Program (25%)', 'Reputation/Leadership/Innovation (20%)', 'Governance Structure (10%)', 'Corporate Social Responsibility and Community Engagement (25%)', and 'Ethics Culture (20%)'.
In the corporate brochure "The Values and Ethics of TI" published by TI, ethical expectations for employees and management are presented. This brochure, being published for the tenth time this year, is produced in 9 languages and provided to all employees and on the company's website. Detailed annual reports on TI's corporate ethics and social responsibility can be found at www.ti.com/ccr. TI's 2013 report is scheduled to be released in May.
