
On March 26, 2014, Teledyne LeCroy (Branch Manager Lee Un-jae http://teledynelecroy.co.kr), a global leader in protocol test solutions, announced the launch of Eclipse™ X34, a portable MIPI M-PHY protocol analyzer for mobile device design and development. Eclipse is the first analyzer to support the PCIe 3.1 specification, which includes the M-PCIe ECN announced by PCI-SIG last year. M-PCIe combines the PCI Express protocol layer with the low-power M-PHY physical layer, delivering superior PCIe performance and software advantages to low-power mobile devices. With the introduction of this product, developers can now capture, decode, and analyze M-PCIe traffic.

The Eclipse X34 supports bandwidth from M-PHY Gear 1 to 3, and can analyze, capture, decode, and monitor various transmission modes with different bit-signaling and clock schemes. An advantage of this analyzer is that it is upgradeable to Gear 4.
The portable Eclipse protocol analyzer is a lightweight device supporting multiple M-PHY interfaces. These interfaces are expected to be introduced in the near future. The first interface is expected to be M-PCIe, which combines the PCIe protocol layer and low-power M-PHY physical layer to deliver PCIe's high performance and software advantages to mobile devices. Eclipse can decode and analyze PCI Express and RRAP protocols and track hibern8, sleep, stall, burst, wake, and all power mode transitions to display M-PHY status.
Third-generation features such as BitTracer are recording functions that display channel information such as bit symbols, binary, and 10-bit data, showing information occurring at the electrical level of M-PHY. In addition, it provides rich functionality including chronological display, real-time statistics, protocol traffic summary, detailed error reports, powerful test scripts, and custom test capabilities to enable developers to quickly troubleshoot and complete projects on schedule.
