Joo Jae-young, the newly appointed CEO of SAS Korea, a global leader in analytics, expressed his ambition to support customer growth based on innovative AI/ML-based analytics solutions as his inaugural statement.SAS Korea announced on the 24th that it has appointed Joo Jae-young as its new CEO.
Newly appointed CEO Joo Jae-young plans to oversee SAS Korea's business, strengthen its position as an analytics specialist, and focus on supporting the business growth of domestic corporate clients.
CEO Joo Jae-young, who has been active in the IT industry for over 30 years, is an expert with extensive experience accumulated over 20 years, outstanding leadership, and proven management capabilities, particularly in the field of enterprise software (SW).
Prior to joining SAS Korea, he served as the Country Manager for Korea at TIBCO Software for 15 years, overseeing overall sales and market expansion strategies while leading the company's continuous growth through customer-centric management.
In particular, under the leadership of CEO Joo, the company was recognized for significantly expanding its market dominance in the finance, manufacturing, and telecommunications industries, while maintaining continuous and robust growth in the Asia-Pacific and Japan regions. Prior to this, he served as the Head of Sales at SAP Korea after working at IBM Korea and HANDYSOFT.
Amir Sohrabi, Vice President of SAS Korea and ASEAN, stated, “New CEO Joo Jae-young possesses extensive leadership and proven capabilities built over more than 30 years in the IT industry. In particular, his management philosophy has focused on fostering an organizational culture where employees grow together through empowerment, in addition to achieving corporate business results. Based on his management expertise in growing the organization alongside Korean customers and partners, he is expected to be the right person to strengthen SAS’s leadership in AI and ML-based analytics solutions and usher in the second chapter of SAS Korea.”

Databricks Unveils Open AI Security Monitoring 'Lakewatch'
Databricks entered the security market on March 24 by unveiling LakeWatch, an open-source agentic SIEM. The core functionality of this product is to integrate and analyze security, IT, and business data in a single environment to support AI-based threat detection and investigation. The company explained that it reduces the limitations of existing security operations centers, which have had to forgo some data due to high cost structures, and enables large-scale data analysis and automation based on open formats and ecosystems. LakeWatch is currently offered as a private preview, with Adobe and Dropbox mentioned as early customers. Databricks also announced an expanded partnership with Anthropic as well as the acquisition of Antimatter and SiftD.ai.

Ecolab Expands AI Data Center Cooling Business Through Acquisition of CoolIT
Ecolab has agreed to acquire CoolIT Systems, a liquid cooling company for AI data centers, for approximately $4.75 billion. The transaction is expected to close by Q3 2026, subject to regulatory approvals. CoolIT has been supplying direct-to-chip cooling-based coolant distribution units, cold plates, and manifolds, serving hyperscale data centers and colocation operators as customers. This acquisition is a measure to address the high-heat and high-density server environments created by AI proliferation. Ecolab plans to combine its water management and digital monitoring capabilities with CoolIT's hardware technology to expand its data center cooling business.
