Apple stated that it recorded an all-time high in its third-quarter earnings report based on the active installed base (AIB). The active base is based on actual user engagement rather than sales.

Apple announced on the 4th that it released its earnings for the third quarter of fiscal year 2023. Revenue fell 1% year-over-year to $81.8 billion (approximately 106.3072 trillion won), while diluted earnings per share increased 5% year-over-year to $1.26.

Apple CEO Tim Cook said, “I am pleased to have achieved record-high third-quarter revenue in the services sector. This achievement was made possible by over one billion paid subscriptions, and I expect our strength in emerging markets to continue thanks to solid iPhone sales,” adding, “Apple will enrich the lives of our customers.”

Apple CFO Luca Maestri said, “Business performance in the third quarter improved compared to the same period last year compared to the second quarter.” “Active installed devices (AIB) reached an all-time high in all regions,” it said, adding, “During the quarter, Apple generated a very robust operating cash flow of about $26 billion, returned about $24 billion to shareholders, and continued to invest in long-term growth plans.”

Apple's Board of Directors announced that it will pay a cash dividend of $0.24 per share of its common stock. The dividend will be paid on August 14, 2023, to shareholders registered as of the close of trading on August 17, 2023.

Meanwhile, according to the industry, speculation is rampant that Apple's iPhone 15 series will be unveiled in early September.

The iPhone 15 series is expected to support USB-C charging ports on both the base and Pro models. Battery capacity is speculated to increase by up to 18% compared to the iPhone 14. The Pro model will feature titanium, and performance is expected to be enhanced by the inclusion of the 'A17 Bionic chip,' which utilizes a 3nm manufacturing process.
