Handreamnet was selected as the winner of the '2023 WSCE Awards' in the security solution category at the 'World Smart City Expo 2023'.

Handreamnet announced on the 4th that its joint project with K-water, the 'SG5000 Series', was recognized as the winner of the World Smart City Expo Awards held at KINTEX in Ilsan. The SG5000 series is a 'whitelist security switch' that provides high compatibility with industrial control systems (ICS) and visibility into critical equipment. Handreamnet announced that it is a “Korean industrial security L2 switch” jointly developed with K-water to strengthen security for information and communication infrastructure and establish an active defense system.

In particular, it has been recognized for its excellence in that it allows managers and operators to easily monitor and control through the interface of existing systems due to its seamless compatibility with industrial systems such as SCADA, and further strengthens the security system of infrastructure with its powerful internal security functions.

In addition, through a pilot project with K-water, it was highly evaluated for proving excellent performance in actual fields, such as securing network visibility within water purification plants, preventing forgery/alteration of all transmitted data, including control system operation information and control commands, through encryption of industrial Ethernet sections, and ensuring confidentiality and integrity of data.

Meanwhile, the World Smart City Expo 2023, an exhibition that aims to create sustainable and smart cities centered on 'people', will be held from September 6th to 8th at KINTEX Exhibition Center 1 in Ilsan, Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do. The awards ceremony at the event will be hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Ministry of Science and ICT, and organized by the Korea Land and Housing Corporation, Korea Water Resources Corporation, and KINTEX. It will be held at Agora in KINTEX Exhibition Center 1 in Ilsan on the 7th of this month.
