Morai, in collaboration with the Seongnam Industrial Promotion Agency, organized an autonomous driving competition to discover research personnel in the autonomous driving field and foster autonomous driving software experts, thereby strengthening the competitiveness of autonomous driving software.

Morai announced on the 26th that it will hold the 'SHARK Autonomous Driving Competition' to compete in autonomous driving technology capabilities on the 'SHARK (Seongnam Hightech Autonomous Road framework)' virtual simulation platform with the Seongnam Industrial Promotion Agency.

Hosted by Seongnam City, the event is organized by Seongnam Industrial Promotion Agency and Morai, with Morai overseeing the overall operation of the event and providing training on how to use simulation tools and autonomous driving technology.

Shark is a simulation platform that allows testing of autonomous driving technology in a virtual space that is a digital twin of the city of Seongnam, identical to reality, in response to various conditions such as traffic, weather, and roads.

Participants must use the shark to move along a designated path and complete the Seongnam City Hall map by performing various missions such as following traffic signals, recognizing lanes, dealing with unexpected situations, and avoiding obstacles.

The Shark Autonomous Driving Competition is open to everyone, including businesses, research institutes, students, and citizens from all over the country, as well as Seongnam City, and each team can consist of up to five people.

The competition schedule will begin on October 23, 2023, with the application and selection process followed by full-scale competition preparations, and the finals will be held on November 24 at the Seongnam Global Convergence Center. <br />
